Later that year he trained at Camp Meade, Maryland and belonged to the 4th Battalion 1st Replacement Regiment Company B. He was then assigned to the 18th US Infantry. Other Information :he fell from his plane descending by the parachute in a village near Viterbo-Lazio, between Rome and Florence in May 1945. He dislocated a hip, then, found by some Italian farmers, he had been hidden in a cowshed and covered with straw. Later, he was examinated by the local doctor and carried in our garret where he stayed for a month about. When a group of American soldiers passed along our village during the Liberation, he reunited with them leaving my village towards Tevere River and the North of Italy. He was thin, tall, dark hair. White man.
