According to a Nominal List I have just received all the above men were part of the commissioning crew of HMS Mary Rose 1944. The best information I have been able to get would suggest that there is a very good chance that some of these men would have been onboard on the 15 August 1945, at St Angelo, Malta where my father joined the Mary Rose bound for the Far East. He was George Charles Fish - P/KX144536 STO.lc. I would be most pleased for any information or contact regarding this list.

Other Information : I believe my father belonged to the Merchant Navy prior to his enrolment in the Royal Navy in 1943 and again after his release from the Royal Navy after the war. My mother met him while he was refitting a ship in Dumbarton, Scotland in 1946. At the time he was apparently working for John I Jacobs of Tilbury, England. I have contacted both the RN and John I Jacobs with little luck. The Royal Navy gave me his enrolment date and service number but say they also have little else with regards to documents on him. Any help in finding any further information would be greatly appreciated.

Other Information : Robert was Irish and a great piano player. He would be approx. 79 years old. He was 5 foot 7 inches with brown hair and brown eyes. During WWII his family all lived in England. He was a gunner in the British Navy bit in 1944/5 he was a resident in a nursing home (reason not known) in the Peekskill, New York area - probably the one at Harriman Estate or possibly at the Naval Hospital.

Other Information : Geordie and I trained in Haslar Naval Hospital in Gosport Hants. Next we were drafted to Australia, after 9 months in Australia we were drafted to Columbo Sri Lanka. Then after a month we went to HMS Sultan on Blakang-Mati Island Singapore, he we worked in the Naval Hospital. From Singapore we all went back to dear old Blighty to be demobbed - travelling and working on HMS Formidable. We then lost contact with each other as he was not a "Pompey" rating. Any information on his whereabouts would be gratefully received.
